What Will The Future Bring?

In Africa unemployment is a big issue and lowers the prosperity rate for some countries. The big reason for unemployment is the countries education system. Could this be fixed though? Will it help Africa become more prosper?

In the article Futurology: Bill Gates Predicts a Prosperous Africa in 2030, Bill and his wife, Melinda predicts that the future for Africa will look better than ever. Technology will improve greatly. This will improve farming, boost mobile banking, and most importantly enhance education. How does this help Africa become more prosper?

First off, technology will help Africa out with mobile banking. More than 2.5 billion adults currently do not have bank accounts. There is no way to access them. Once technology is developed better throughout the world, it will enable adults to make purchases through their phones. Also, this will help close the gap in gender. Statistics show that in Africa women are 24 percent less likely than men to own a cell phone. With internet access becoming more available this will connect both genders allowing both to have bank accounts making Africa more prosper.

Most significantly, the boost in technology will improve the education in all countries of Africa. It will defiantly make it easier for students to attend online classes. This not only gives them the correct education but will make it more accessible and affordable. This will overall improve teachers and sources giving the students the best of the best learning. With the advanced education, it will increase the rates of employed workers developing Africa into being very prosperous.

  1. I've seen several articles that have been posted all fall back on the topic of education. The lack of education seems to be the reason behind all of this, and no one was doing anything about it. It's about time someone has found a way to try and help improve this. Creating online classes would be ideal. The technology being created is extremely helpful and like you said, will definitely make it easier for people to attend. All of this will help to enhance Africa's education which will eventually help with the unemployment rate, causing it to drop. This country needed something like this and it is about time things are going to change. This will be great for all the people of Africa because it will now give them a greater education which will lead them to a brighter future. All of this is definite to make Africa become a more prosperous country.

  2. I would like to point out that when you look at the differential between 1998 and 2010 most countries have improved drastically or are already looking very good. When you look at Africa you see that it isn't the case there because the percentage barely increased and is still extremely sub par compared to the rest of the world.

    1. I can see where you're coming from. I also think it is a good idea for online schooling though. Many articles and news clips I have previously read stated that many Africans were just giving up and not even attending school anymore. Even if online schooling doesn't drastically change the percentages, its giving the African people hope for better employment. This will make people strive to get a job, instead of just thinking that there is no help.

  3. I also agree that online schooling would be a very useful idea. That also would give the women who are staying at home to care for their families an opportunity to even get an education. People say that the youth doesn't go to school because of a lack of jobs, but improving technology will also create more job opportunities.

    1. I agree. Once the technology advances in Africa hopefully the youth will become more motivated. Once they are motivated to get an education, there will become more jobs and the employment rate will increase making each country in African a little bit more prosperous.
